I have been making Church websites for just about as long as I have been on the Internet and time was coming round for a refresh for my local church's site. Instead of just tidying up the CSS I wanted to use a new CMS (Plone was a major possibility).

I got round to considering Firedrop2 just as convenience and to replace the use of Blogger for the main News section. Then I realised it could probably cope with handling the entire site (morphed into a blog with sections becoming categories) with no software changes. In fact it just needed a little tweak (which may find its way back into the core of Firedrop2. Some entries didn't need to appear on the front page so it just needed to skip over certain categories.

As to storing media, the spirit-of-Web2.0 thing to do is to use some online services and just link from a blog post. So our BBQ photos are on 23hq and a video will appear on Google Video fairly soon. Hopefully this will positively widen the audience for the content.
