The Cube 2 Game Permalink

I am not the worlds biggest gamer but I enjoy the technologies and keep track of what is going on console-wise. I sometimes fire up a FPS for 10-20 mins in the evening for a quick zap. One of my favourites is a free game called Cube which just recently got better.

Cube Engine Games(Link) ''Free single and multi player 1st person shooter game with some satisfying fast oldskool gameplay. A large variety of gameplay modes from classic SP to fast 1 on 1 MP and objective based teamplay, with a great variety of original maps to play on.''

There's a RPG variant on the way too. This game is cross-platform and very fast even on limited hardware. A PIII 800Mhz is more than enough even with integrated GFX card. Looks great and is fun to play. No silly storyline just straightforward racing around zapping.

Scottish Windmills Go Offshore Permalink

Energy has greatly shot up the news agenda recently but this one is a good news story (no wars, planning issues, oil or nuclear waste involved!).

BBC NEWS | Scotland | Highlands and Islands | Offshore turbines go on display(Link) ''Offshore turbines go on display

Two turbines for a prototype offshore wind farm were to be showcased at a former oil fabrication yard in the Highlands on Tuesday.

The project will see two of the largest turbines in the world installed next to the Beatrice Field in the Moray Firth.''

I am still very annoyed with the Governments lack of information on Energy generation. Blair and the ministers only seem to spout conclusions (let's go nuclear!) than any useful information e.g cost per unit, capacity.
